Website Design for Isle of Wight Businesses

We know the Island. We know what makes a website work.

Professional website design with local knowledge, commercial thinking and over 20 years of experience.

A successful website needs more than attractive design. It needs to understand your business, speak to the right people and give them a reason to choose you.

At Plastic Box Digital Marketing, we take time to get to know what makes your business different. We write your website content, design around your message and build a website that works for your customers.

And our connection to the Isle of Wight goes right back to the beginning.

Our story started on the Isle of Wight.

Plastic Box Digital Marketing founder Gavin Harris was born and brought up on the Island.

For many years, he could also be heard on Isle of Wight Radio, gaining experience in broadcasting and traditional marketing, where understanding your audience and getting the message right are essential.

When Plastic Box Digital Marketing was established in 2002, our first office was at Dodnor Park in Newport. We later moved to the Innovation Centre.

The Island has been part of our business story from the start.

And over the years, we’ve worked with a wide range of Island businesses, including estate agents, letting agents, takeaways, nail technicians and other independent services.

That experience has helped us understand the different challenges businesses face, whether they’re serving the local community, attracting visitors or trying to reach both.

One Island. Very different customers.

Running a business on the Isle of Wight brings opportunities and challenges that aren’t quite the same as those on the mainland.

Island residents

Some businesses depend on a loyal customer base of Island residents, where reputation, familiarity and recommendations matter.

Holidaymakers

Others need to attract holidaymakers, often before they’ve even arrived. Visitors may be researching where to stay, what to do, where to eat or which services they need well in advance of their trip.

Both audiences

Then there are businesses that need to appeal to both audiences, with demand changing throughout the year.

Your website needs to reflect how your business actually works.

For a local service provider, that might mean building trust and making enquiries easy. For a tourism-related business, it might mean answering the questions visitors have before they travel.

And for an established business, the priority may be communicating what makes it different from the alternatives.

We take time to understand those details before we start designing.

More - The Letting Centre

Making property listings easier to manage with a bespoke website integration.

For More - The Letting Centre, we developed a custom integration between their website and their existing lettings software.

This enabled the website to automatically display their latest available properties, using information from the system they already worked with.

Rather than having to maintain property listings separately on the website, the information could flow directly from their lettings software.

It reduced duplicated work and helped ensure visitors could see up-to-date property information.

It’s a good example of how we think about websites.

Sometimes the most important work isn’t a design feature that catches your eye. It’s finding a practical solution that makes life easier for the business and improves the experience for its customers.

A website built around the way the business works, rather than the other way around.

Great websites don’t start with great design.

They start with understanding your business.

We approach website design with a digital marketing mindset, shaped by decades of experience and a genuine interest in the people and businesses we work with.

We want to understand why customers choose you, what makes your business different and what you want your website to achieve.

Sometimes those conversations uncover strengths that haven’t been communicated particularly well before.

We then turn what we’ve learnt into clear, persuasive website content.

Only once the message is right do we design and build the website around it.

Think. Write. Build.

Think.

Understand your business, your customers and what matters to them.

Write.

Create website content that communicates your strengths and gives people reasons to choose you.

Build.

Develop a professional, easy-to-use website that brings everything together and makes taking the next step straightforward.

Professional copywriting is included in every website project. It’s not an optional extra.

More than a website launch.

We’ve been building websites since the late 1990s, and Plastic Box Digital Marketing has been established since 2002.

We know that launching a website isn’t the end of the job.

We can also look after your managed WordPress hosting, technical maintenance, backups, security and ongoing content changes.

And if you want to attract more visitors, we can help with Google Ads, search engine optimisation and other targeted digital marketing.

You’ll deal directly with our small, experienced team, using phone calls, email and video meetings to keep things straightforward.

Some of our earliest customers are still working with us today.

Websites that work. Support that lasts.

Let’s talk about your Island business.

We know the Island, and we’d love to find out more about your business.

Perhaps you’re planning a completely new website. Perhaps your existing one no longer reflects the quality of what you offer, or isn’t bringing in the enquiries you’d hoped for.

Whatever the starting point, we’ll take the time to understand your business and share our initial thoughts.

You don’t need to arrive with a detailed website brief. That’s something we can help you work out.
